We use a couple of these solar panel mounts on our MH. The addition of an 'eye' on the edge of the frame means we can tilt them from the ground with a pole with a hook on the end - seemples...

If the pic doesn't show (been unsuccessful so far for some reason) have a look at our pic album ...

Mounts look neat - just what I'm looking for.
Where did you get them?
Is there a means of locking them down for travelling?
Thanks
Mike

if you want to post the pic direct to a reply and the pic is on a website then hover over the pic, right click, select 'copy image URL' from the dropdown box.

when you click the little 'mountain' icon, right click and paste into the box.

if the pic you want doesnt have 'copy image URL' in the dropdown box then it's copyrighted and cant be copied this way.

Are these the friction window opener thingies? Someone mentioned them on SBMCC and they were found to be too flimsy for long term use as the mechanical loading on them is from a different direction.

Or are they specifically designed for solar panels?

Not being negative just curious. If they are designed for the job I would be interested ::bigsmile: Where did you get them from and how much?

That looks like what I want/need... nearly...

Now just have to attach that gizmo to a modified seat swivel mechanism and Robert is your father's brother... :thumb:

Ebay - see Scotjimland's post below, he kindly beat me to it! They do various sizes depending on size of your panel/s. They are very solid. We have ours tilting 'across' the roof, they don't move while travelling. They may do if you have them mounted so as to tilt towards rear of van in which case wind could lift them.
