We are planning to travel from Dunkirk or Calais, initially via Cologne, then south through Germany and Switzerland, to the Italian Lakes. We would like to use toll-free roads wherever possible. Any advice on routes and stopovers would be most welcome.
We're not totally inexperienced but have not been to Germany, Switzerland or Italy by motorhome before.
Our usual channel crossing is now no more, as we used to have a carnet with Sea France, but they are now defunct. Fortunately our carnet had run out so we didn't lose any money! Advice on crossings would again be welcome - we have an Adria Coral, 7.6 m long.
Thanks,
David

Sankt Goar - Camping Lorelei Blick
Rhine Falle - Aire by the falls on Swiss side, have coins for machine.
Then into Switzerland where you will almost certainly need a vignette unless you navigate very carefully. Anywhere in Switzerland is magnificent. We use Camping Lido in Luzern.
Then towards Milan and keep going.

Best stop on Garda is Pesciera del Garda because it's so good and has rail connections for Verona and Venice as well as being the main port.

We went to Lake Garda from Rotterdam via Germany and Austria we stopped at Bruhle nice we campsite with a lake for one night then used the Stelplatz in Ulm for one night lovely small city and tram from stelplatz to center about 10mins.

We then spend a couple of night in Innsbruck before going to LG. On the way home we stayed at Stuggart very handy site for the city and motorway.
