I'm a big fan of modern country music, my favourite at the moment is Keith Urban. Does anyone have any recommendations of country music in this style? The best site I have used for videos is www.vevo.com they claim to have 40,000+ videos to watch all free.

We saw Travis Collins at the Malvern Country Music / motorcaravan show a couple of years ago. Bought one of his CDs which I've played quite a lot. He reminds me of Keith Urban's style. He told me that he had travelled to Nashville. He already has a recording contract but I think that he's got bigger and better things yet to come.

Check him out here:

Jace Everett is also worth listening to. We saw him in a festival and were impressed. Try this video:

We saw Lemon Grass at the Great Western Show 2 yrs ago,
http://www.lemongrassmusic.co.uk/
love to listen to their albums when we're out and about in the van. You'll need to contact Malcolm direct to get copies of their albums. 'Grass Cuttings' is our favourite.

I have music that I prefer but just about all music is special when played well, strings, brass, percussion and can change your mood if you have the time to just listen. To play an instrument well and enjoy playing it is a wonderful thing

7 Years after 5 years with caravan.
Not a huge country music fan (Janine's the one for that:Smile:), but there are some artists I quite like.

Here's one (discovered this watching CSI New York)

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1xF1L8ZS7s&feature=related[/ame]

Most of the country music I like is, like this track, close to the rock end of the genre.

As previously said, each to their own. I have fairly eclectic tastes which I'm sure 99% of Funsters would'nt particularly enjoy. The nearest I get to C&W is Bonnie Raitt wHo I have seen a few times but she is more towards country rock than C&W.

I love Cross Country a british band but now no more due to one member passing away - their rendition of Cars is my favourite followed by Fast Moving Train

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Yeah must admit some songs can sound a bit depressing

Especially when a deaf stetson wearing old blokes playing them full blast , in his caravan awning from 8am till 10pm . Thank god we are not ones to hang around the motorhome all day . We only lasted 1 day :ROFLMAO:

As I sit here reading the posts I am listening to....

As I sit reading the posts on MHF, I am as usual listening to country down loaded either from cd's or ITUNES... at the moment it is Merle Haggard... I like all kinds of country.. but first found it back in the 60's with Johnny Cash .. lucky to see him twice live at the Albert Hall.. I went on to Willie Nelson and the outlaw side of country.. Waylon Jennings, Tompall Glaser... managed to see Willie several times in the UK over the years.. even have a post I got at the show he did in Cardiff a few years back.. that is on the outside of the toilet door on the RV....

But I even like groups like Plup, Eurythmics, Barbra Streisand, and the Boss ..Bruce Stringstien, plus a few of the less well know country singers like Hoyt Axton.. but then I have Bob Marley on the computer as well. Whatever if it relates then i might like it.

Sue was feeling very down and low last week over her job in the NHS.. so I purchased an ITUNE and it down loaded to the Mac, the IPLAY and her iPhone.. from the album Shaking the tree .. Peter Gabriel featuring Kate Bush .. in Don't give up.... just a message .. but that is what most country is.. a message, about life in one way or another.

Bob
