That's it then, we'll have no more problems with satnavs taking us where we didn't mean to go:

It will still depend on the sat nav mapping companies putting investment into their map databases. It shouldn't really be difficult as changes to roads are planned (either locally or nationally) months, if not years, in advance so the data is there. All it needs, surely, is for the mapping companies to get their act together.

Typical modern approach, blame anyone but your/them selves.

Map! Have an idea where you are going before blindly setting of assuming a box of tricks will get you there:Doh:

I had a car ages ago with sat nav built in, I always checked a map before going anywhere I didn't know, now, I just use a map, either book or tinternet or both, I can't currently see any point in us having a sat nav.

It amazes me the amount of people on the roads these days blindly following these things, especially on motorways at night as there are obvious for all to see, and to my mind a bright display on the windscreen must be a distraction.

Anyway, sorry but just a minor rant:shout:

You can't legislate for peoples stupidity. Folk seem to be terrified of ignoring sat nav instructions even when they are obviously wrong. There have been many times when I've said "I'm not going down there". The thing quicky recalculates another route.
