Windscreen Aerial? (1 Viewer)

I need a new aerial on my M/H for the Radio, can't find the end that fixes to the frame, and don't want to go thro the rigmarole of drilling holes in the Body.
So, braved the weather here in Gods Little Acre, (don't ask!:Angry: Real Poooeee!) and took a turn thro Halfords. Saw one that fixes inside and upagainst the screen.
Will it work? Saw something similar in a delivery Truck, it was used in conjunction with a Company Radio, a CB style thingee. AND, because I'm only receiving a signal, do I have to do as the instructions say, earth the braided wire, and connect to a live lead? (and YES! I know! "When all else fails read the instructions!":thumb: I did:thumb: thats the scary bit:Blush

Never had much luck with windscreen fitted ones.

Give it a fair chance and follow instructions, at least then you have tried.

i would earth the braid.
and the live feed can be found on the back of your radio will probably say ANT or AMP on it and most likely be blue or could be blue with a white stripe and only be live when the radio is on.

I used to have one in the RV and it worked fine. It was wired to the ignition so as not to drain the battery. It had some kind of amplifier in it and a small red LED came on whilst it was working.

I have a windscreen arial on my SURE Highway D A B radio absolutely marvelous, best thing ever bought for my works van. Uses the built in radio, wirelessly, only way to listen to Planet Rock when driving.

I fitted one of these on my boxer. Works excellent. Supply is indeed for amplifier
