Just read Bernard Cornwells latest, and its excellent. If your at all interested in Alfred the Great and how England came in to being, this is part of a great series "The Saxon Stories" If only they taught history in schools like this.

If you want a mobi download pm me.

Just found this post Olley!

I love Bernard Cornwell and "Death" is on the kindle for my next read. His Arthur series was good too, and on a similar theme I've read all of Conn Iggulden's Genghis Khan series, bit bloodthirsty and each story is much the same as the previous one but does give a good idea of how far the Mongol Empire reached.

Best read in order Joy, each is a story on it's own but they follow the story of the Khans in succession.

The Wolf of the Plains
Lords of the Bow
The Bones of the Hills
Empire of Silver
Conqueror.

For historical how about these two, I have got most in Mobi if anybody wants them.

Colleen McCullough's "Masters of Rome" series, it goes from 110 BC, Sulla and Marius to Antony and Cleopatra in 7 books. Brilliant.

Sharon Penmans's book's the Welsh trilogy, Llewelen the Great and King John and then the HenryII trilogy. She fairly closely follows the historical facts, excellent.

There's some fantastic authors out there. ::bigsmile:
