coat hanger tips? (1 Viewer)

Can anyone tell me how to get my hangers to stay on rail whilst traveing, dont want to buy the ones advertised.This is the first time have had this problem in over 40yrs [have heard of the problem]but cant remember the cure.

there are several ways.

foam pipe insuluation on the rail, placing hangar hooks alternative facing1 to the front 1 to the rear of wardrobe, small elastic bands wrapped round the hook part, to name some

Absolutely! We carry so much stuff that nothing can move! We put my DJ and Morning Suit at one end and my wife's mink coats at the other

I use the non slip matting which I have in the cupboards.

I just cut a strip the length of the rail and a bit wider than the circumference of the rail.

Then glue it onto the hanging rail...... now you have a non slip hanging rail.... simples..:thumb:

Or cut a piece of ribbed hose the same length as your rail, and slide it on. Stops hangers sliding a treat!

Simple .. Remove the rail, fit shelves made from old bread trays ( strong and light ) and no need for hangers ( and of course 4 times the storage space of that small hanging area )

I squeezed the hooks on ours that works most of the time it depends how reckless you drive, it`s the goddam speed bumps that do it:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

if your hangers have metal hooks simply bend the hook until its a good fit over the rail.

plastic hooks, you could soften with a hair drier and bend the same way

I took the foam pipe insulator route and it keeps the hangers on, however, all I have to do now is figure a way to keep the clothes on the hangers.

Rubber bands (the sort the Post Office use are great) wound round the arms on the hangers. That seems to work. Jane

Hi, we used to have this problem, not always but enough to be a nuisance.

We use that ribbed plastic tubing you see behind desks to keep cables together. no problems since.
