2years but caravanned for years
hi, we are Iain and Shani. We caravanned for years but are now looking at campervans as an entry point to motorhoming into retirement.
We are considering van conversions at this stage but open to suggestions. Any info on where to look would be gratefully recieved. We live in north east Worcestershire.
Cheers

Everywhere. Take camera and notebook. Sit in as many as you possible can. At least you know "the form" and what to look for but in a MH you are more limited in space than a caravan so still need to look closely.

Think MPG. Van conversions seem to be better on fuel, obviously, because of the low profile, but that limited width makes a huge difference living in there.

Hi Iain and Shani, you've just missed the show season where you can find hundreds of motorhomes to compare all in the same space, it means you'll now have to do a bit of travel between dealers to find your ideal van. Our Link Removed should be a good help. Meanwhile, welcome to the Fun :thumb:

Thanks chaps. We know we missed the shows but there is one coming up in January....trouble with them is you can end up spending more than you bargained for!!
Heading off today to visit in laws and calling in at Danbury, Wilkins and possibly Cotswold!!
We are after something that will double up as a second vehicle so at this stage nothing too large!!

since 2011 but years in a caravan
Hi Iain and Shani,
We have just bought ours it took two years of looking, like you we have owned (still do at moment) a caravan so it helps you know what you like and what you dont.
Take your time and one day you will just say this is the type we like than you can start looking for the best deal.
By the way we are not far from you in stourbridge.
Happy hunting:Smile:

As long as you are not tempted easily, the looking is all part of the fun as is this site.

Welcome and good luck..............Griff

Hiya!

If you are anything like us buying 'things' - the one you have to have will 'speak' to you! LOL Much like buying a house .... did you think 'this feels like home' when you stepped inside .......

Thanks for the comments..........

Just back from an interesting trip. Primarily it was to see Wilco at Colston Hall but we stopped at several outlets to and from WSM and Bristol. Top of the list were Wilkins Motorhomes near Stroud and Danbury Motorhomes at Yate. The other outlets were pretty dismal.

As for what we are looking for "talking to us", we fully endorse that sentiment. It was actually part of our conversation over the last couple of days. As dealers both the above sang out and I think one of them will probably get our custom. Interesting that it isn't difficult for your budget to creep a little higher if the right notes are heard!!

Happy days ahead me thinks!!

Iain
