We all need a torch from time to time......and Im a bit of a torch enthusiast.

The last cree ( thats a sort of digital bulb) that I bought cost me £45...

But I was in tescos today and saw they were selling a cree based small torch
for a tenner..........amazing little thing at 6inches long and less than an inch diameter.....runs on 2 AA batteries...and if you have never used a cree based torch these will blow you away...a good 80 yds plus lighting power...and you will be seeing white spots for ages if you look into the lens. ( and so will anyone you direct one at...so a good deterrent )

The tesco £10 one is on par with far more expensive models.
Perfect for the motorhome .

Do you have a pic so I know what to look for? My torch is rubbish. A mouse lighting it's own farts would be more effective :ROFLMAO:

Crees ( super powerful LEDs ) have revolutionised torches over the last few years

to have a look at some new technology have a look at

http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/fenix.html

the tescos aluminium cree based light is similar to look at as the Fenix LD20 and has a similar light output. ( £47) but the fenix has several light levels and strobe..whereas the tesco torch is on/off..which is fine for most folk
it is very powerful and very small.

The lidl cree based light is great but much bigger and heavier.
I have one. Its good but is a beast.

There are loads of forums now just for torch enthusiasts
sad but true

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/

I used to have this brute of an american police type torch...took about 6 C type batteries and weighed a ton........it was 18 inches long and as thick as my arm.

A little cree based fenix ( or the tesco torch ) which you can lose in the palm of your hand....would blow it out of the water.

I also have a 1400 lumens rechargable which is good for throwing a beam well over 200yds.

Any chance of a picture or a product code so I can find it on the tesco website?

Got a Cree led Lenser P7 here - good for 400+ metres, and look into it at your peril.

Agreed - a good deterrent.....................:winky:

Is the Tesco torch fitted with aC ree 3watt led?
My torch was purchased from Aldi about a year ago and it brilliant! It has the 3watt led. I was waiting for Aldi to stock them again, but may have to visit Tesco.

Last nights test.showed that this £10 torch matches the 190 lumens output from a 3W £47 top branded torch of the same size so it probably is 3W...its probably not as well made
but thats being very picky for a tenner:Smile:

Me too I'm afraid:Blush:, maybe we could start our own little club:Doh::thumb:

Dont get me going:Smile:

I also love the little finger sized torches that can easily live on a keyring like the lovely AAA powered
FENIX E05 R2

yours for about £17 and throws a very usable beam and has proved to be really useful
there are even smaller ones as you know..but I like to keep to AA or AA
as they are available everywhere

I find them to be a bit on the dull side when compared to my

Sunforce 25 Million Candlepower HID Rechargeable Spotlight ......you can fry eggs on the lens.....and throw a tight beam well over 1000yds...( but not at the same time )....now shine that in a burglars face for a few seconds and he'll be walking in circles for days:)
