since 2011 but years in a caravan
Hi Off to view a motor home this weekend :thumb: it’s a long way to go but we have made up our mind about the type we want (at last) so happy to drive and stay over night in hotel to see the right one.
I’m harmed with Jims check list and the tyre guide, great stuff to have.
Is there anywhere that I can get insurance for a day to test drive it? How do others get on with test driving if buying private? I checked and my car insurance will not cover me to drive it.

Any advise welcome

Make sure you run it from cold and also get it up to motorway speeds.
Dont be frightened to test everything out, all the water, gas,12v and 240v options.

So very, very true....money well spent, especially the HPI report.

if you go ahead, make sure you read the HPI terms and conditions fully....

HPI themselves admit they do get their reports wrong from time to time and the fee includes insurance against this happening and will refund the vans cost.

you need to get the
serial/document number of the CURRENT logbook to activate the guarantee....

I'll bet that if their time and materials was properly costed to issue a 1 day cover they would be working for nothing. Or don't you value the time of their employees, the rent, the rates, the telephone, the stationary ... not to mention the actual liability they are insuring?

How much would you charge for an hour of your time ?

Personally I think £28 quid is dirt cheap for that sort of service and can't possibly be equated to an annual premium of £10,000 ....
