Once saw something similar on evilbay and if my memory serves me right it had a Nisan engine..They have been importing them to the UK as Japan is RHD the same as here. The bottom fell out of the second hand 4X4 market so these have started to replace that buisiness. Expect to see a few of them in the near future. I dont supose it will do the second hand motorhome trade any good here when they start flooding the market with them like they did with the 4X4s

That cab door looks like a Mitsubishi Canter which would be the obvious base cab/chassis for a 2l engine and that size of chassis.

Hi it's a Japanese import on a Toyota base :thumb: They pop up on ebay from time to time and IMO sell for little money considering the base vehicles reliability and what is a lot of van for the money :thumb:

hi. i looked at them as well. some have a 4x4 system on them. the one in the pic could be a dyno toyota. if it is thats ok .they make dynoo,s in portugal. i have seen a few on the way from malvern down to brecon .there used to be a garage brought in mazda bongo,s as had the odd camper in as well. good value for money in my eyes . that one is not a canter. must say on first glance i thought it was an isuzu, all adds to the fun. dare say it will be a bargain for someone. there will be alot more of these soon. the factories for toyota ,mitsubishi, nissan etc are already churning out these models in europe and north africa. toyota do a really good looking tbased on the dyno. riple cab pickup with 4x4 bit long but make a really nice tow unit.
shiftz the garage i was talking about is on the ross on wyeto monmouuth road if my memory is right ,we used to turn off right soon after and head to abergavenny so its along there somewhere. might be worth a trip out for you.
cheers alan.

Just look at them carefully though, I saw a nice one I considered using for hire for the younger folk....had a really wide, spacious kitchen....then I realised what the hatch was on the kitchen floor - you guessed it - the loo!:ROFLMAO:

we had just finished hammering out the ripples on the bodywork when this pic was taken....im just out of shot on the right...can you see me

There is a big difference between grey import 4x4's and MH's. The japanes have an mot at three years, which literally means "the shaken" not many cars would pass it, they also have a national trait of "face" which leads them to renew most possesions as soon as a new one comes out or it gets a tad old. Not a problem is a 4x4, as most were eagerly snapped up by enthusiast's who wanted rust free cars.......not likely to happen anymore.

With MH's, the watchword generally would be space. The Mitsi canter, is an especially good motor, with a diesel engine that will do stellar miles and cheaply (used them as recovery trucks), the problem with them, and all japanese "vans", is that they are small. The canter for instance, is like driving a Commer van from the 60's and 70,s, in fact most jap vans bear more than a striking resemblance to most of the Post Office fleet from that era.

If you bear a resemblance to the japs, then you would no doubt get a wellspecced well looked after van, but if youve outgrown shorts, I,d do a long drive in one before buying.
