Hi,

Has anyone any nice wild camping spots they would care to share anywhere in the North East, in Northumberland or somewhere on the NE Coast.

Looking for somewhere for next weekend.

Thanks.......

Hi

We used to be members of the Motorhomestopover website and in Amble there is a pub called The Wellfield, just at the top of the Main Street who allowed overnighters.

Might be worth a call to see if they are still as friendly.

we stop on the cliff top at Whitby only stay one night in the same spot so no one complains
also you can stop on the B6318 Hadrian`s wall there is a temple with an open car park about 1 mile from Houseteads
there are no signs or payment on this car park there is a charge and no overnight stop signs at Houseteads.

there are a few viewing points on the Kielder Water (small car parks with in walking distance of the lake) very quiet and beautiful views of lake kielder.

you can also use out of town shopping areas Asda is a good one I always park far end out of the way plus you can have a cooked breakfast in their cafe

we have also stopped in Scarborough on the cliff road opposite the building they used in the ITV the royal(hospital) heartbeats follow on series

hope these help

You can always stay over on Holy Island if you miss the crossing due to the tide coming in , wild camping is frowned on but not a lot you can do if stuck with the tide ..... Also in the village of Powburn handy for Ingram Valley and the Cheviot hills , if you turn down past the kids play park which is always empty and quiet there is a secluded spot around the corner , handy for the pub too ... Also there is often campers in the layby overlooking Budle Bay just North of Bamburgh .
