Hi All,
Does anyone know of a pull-in or rest area (from approx 1am) please around the Dover area that we could (probably) use to get a few hours shut-eye after travelling from 'up't North' before having to be at the port for 7am?
Many thanks

Hi John, you can park in Marine Parade Dover, its right on the sea front and you will see the signs for campers and caravans parking, you can see the ferries go in and out of the port its that close. Free from 18.00 until 08.00 after that you have to pay.::bigsmile: :thumb: Bob.

Here is the place.

You will note that Esplanade, Waterloo Crescent and Marine Parade form one continuous street. We tend to use the Esplanade end as it's further away from most of the houses. Turn in off the A20 from the first roundabout (from the west) over a swing bridge then immediately left across a small roundabout and you are in the parking zone.

Note, the charging period there is 09:00 until 18:00. When leaving, don't try and drive up to the eastern end of Marine Parade - it is only 2 metres wide. Either leave via Esplanade or Wellesley Road which is part way along Marine Parade.

Many thanks to you both, Bob and Philip - two informative and great replies within minutes, brilliant!

Many thanks

Am leaving on 8am ferry to Calais on 5 Sep so the above info is gratefully received. Cost £41.70 (Sgle) via Caravan Club so happy with that. Anyone else on that ferry???
