Well, we have just come of the lovely Ille d'Oleron where we have been staying for a week. We have had some lovely hot weather but rainy days as well. We are now in Rochefort where it is glorious. We are now starting to make our way back north. We only have 1 week left.

If you haven't headed north yet, take a side trip onto the Ile de Re. €16 bridge toll:Sad:but a magical island. You only pay the toll one way.

I second that. Unless you want to leave it 'til next year:thumb:

We spent 3 nights there last week at the aire at St. Denis, glorious weather after some very wet weather on the mainland. Lovely island with lots of excellent beaches and cycle routes. We are now back to reality at home but looking foreward to the next adventure!!

But what about coming back through the Dordogne? There is Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac and so many other lovely places. ::bigsmile:

Ile de re

Cheers all for your lovely comments - we have just washed the motorhome and are sitting in Maccie D's having a coffee - sun is shining and the air is warm. It is safe to say we have had all types of weather since July in france. We have decide that the Ile de re is the next stop then. ::bigsmile:

Welshbois......as you are coming up that coast, call at the island... Ile De Noirmoutier...go to the very top left hand corner....rue de la pointe...ponte de l'Herbaudiere....a municipal site very nice and a small port ...Mmmm lovely.....just check your ground before parking as some of the pitches the sandy ground is a little loose/soft-ish...the pitches have plenty of room good views and fishing and you can pick oysters off the rocks..... a great site..you will like it ...it was recommended to us by many people... so we called and stopped several days...nice I would go again:thumb::thumb:
