if you are unsure if an ebay auction is a scam simply click on the sellers feedback or profile.

feedback will come back as 'sorry, we encountered a problem'
and profile will go to 'my world' with no profile.

a genuine auction will show feedback and the sellers profile.

it doesnt go through to the ebay shop either when you click on it and looks like the scammer might have a bite already

yeah.. I saw that John.. he wants it delivered ... and the seller has agreed .. so how does that work ..?
large (and obviously none returnable) deposit up front via western union probably
the [STRIKE]seller[/STRIKE] scammer has agreed to work out a delivery quote which if agreed will be the 'deposit'

why cant folks see that a £20k+ motorhome isnt going to be sold for a mere £5k.....sheer greed, thats why.

Its not on the ebay site. It is a subdomain of
http://www.jlwd.co.uk
Instead of www. it has

He will have entered all this himself and the question/answer at the bottom are just there to make it look more authentic and make you rush into making a better bid.

Karl

PS: how did you find this listing please?

This has been here before by the way. My last post on the subject

I got his fake pages removed by his host singlehop.com

I am pushing for his host to take more action this time than just removing the page.....

You can report phishing sites via google here
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/

It is passed onto stopbadware which is used by a few browser to protect users.

Norton wouldn't even allow me to look at the page!! It just came up with a big flashy screen telling me it 'Suspicious Site Blocked' and telling me to press exit to leave the screen.

When this scam first started 2 years ago I got in touch with ebay. They took no action. I got in touch with Watchdog, they took no action. I got in touch with the News of the World. They took no action (except for hacking my phone).

There is no such thing as pre approved bidders on ebay. I promise you this, ebay will take no action, the scam will be back and back again.

I reported this immediately to stopbadware site and it was blocked within firefox within 12 hours. However this only blocks a specific page. I am hassling the hosting company over this "AGAIN".
They have done the same and just removed the page in question.
However this time I am pushing them to remove the subdomain as well
Link Removed in its entirety.

I have suggested that the A record for this subdomain be removed from the zone file.

I will be keeping a close eye on this and will keep contacting them until permanent action is taken.

I have not heard back from Enom. They don't seem interested.
Nominet can't take action under their terms of contract unfortunately.
So we are left hoping that the hosting provider can do something.
