Hi we have just bought a Burstner T star 680 and it has an e control display compact. It has a manual but.im fi ding it really difficult to understand. The problem we have is it keeps switching itself off then the 12 v lights go off. Is it something we are doing or is there a fault?

If your leisure battery is on the way out, the eBox will switch off if it detects low voltage. Have you tested the voltage at the battery with a multimeter and have you had the electric hook up plugged in at all ? Taking it for a drive or starting the engine won't be sufficient to recharge a really flat battery.

Hi, it's mot a flat battery as we have fixed that bit and we mow have lights. The problem now is it will come up with "fresh water almost empty" then the e control shuts down which turns off the 12 volt apart from the lights. Its most bizarre

If there is no water in the fresh water tank, or if you have just refilled it, you have to reset it on the remote display. If the tank is empty, select "pump" on the display and toggle it to OFF, this stops the low water alarm sounding every few minutes. This shouldn't have any impact on why the eBox is shutting down though. Have you checked all the fuses around the leisure battery ? There will probably be a 50amp maxi fuse (I had one blow once for no discernable reason) and a standard small 5 or 10 amp fuse that controls the circuitry.

How do we reset the water level?
As far as the 12 v issue we have a 12v tv and we could be watching it for a couple of hours and it's fine other times the aerial just goes off, my husband has to "fiddle" with e control. The e control beeps, then the tv aerial goes off and the e control shuts down. Hubby has a fiddle we have no idea what we are doing, we have just bought it and although we have a manual it doesn't actually tell you how to set it. We are unsure if we are at fault or if there is a fault in the motor home.
Any advice to 2 newbies would be welcome

Is this the manual you have with your van ?

You turn the knob till you highlight the function you want to view, then press in the knob which will allow you to access the features of that function (e.g. turn the water pump on or off or check the voltage of the batteries)
Are their any of the "bottom row" warning icons highlighted ?
Are you on ehu or running off the leisure battery ?
