Hi
We are looking into buying a sat dish, any idea's on which is the best to pick up our channels out in Spain, around Mercia and Valencia at La.Manga and Benicassim, any body used one out there we normally take a free standing dish but are looking into a fixed dish on top. Pete

to get a decent reception for uk tv that far down spain you need at least a one meter dish if not bigger.

Thanks John
The one we normally take is 1.2 meters but free standing, I am looking for a dish that will give us some tv on top, 1 meter automatic will be the best option I think. Pete :thumb:

Between Valencia and Murcia even an sky minidish can receive UK TV satellite channels.

An 80cm dish in that area can receive about 50-75 of the Sky pay package.

It will also be able to get ITV1, C4 and the "fives", with a working Sky card (ITV1 on 11973 and 12408, and the Irish C4s on 12480)

But anything less than a 1.8m dish between these areas and you can forget about BBC1,2,3,4,itv2,3,4.

So not too sure about pappajohn saying no english channels.....

Dish size required depends on what channel you want...

Depends which north beam you are talking about...and where exactly you are....

For whatever reason, 2B North beam reception is a lot different to 2A north beam reception.

For example, I can get ITV1 on 12402 (2B north) and Irish C4s (12480 2b north) 24/7 on my 80cm dish (70kms south of Valencia). Yet a 1.8m dish only just keeps the 2a north beams in 24/7 - sometimes some pixelation at 5pm when they are at their weakest when cloud is about.

So out of the current 7 satellite beams offering UK TV, (2 on 2a, 2 on 2b, 1 on 2d, and 2 on eurobird 1) I can get 5 beams 24/7. Thats is over half of the available channels.

Eh?
Freesat receivers, a free to air receiver, and a Sky digibox with no card all get the same free to air channels....for free.
You dont PAY Sky for the free to air satellite channels!
You only have to pay sky for the PAY channels they offer.
So, does your Oyster system give you the pay channels for free (like Sky Sports, Discovery)? If so obtaining Pay channels without paying the correct subscription or correct company is illegal.

Good morning
Not sure if we are allowed to do this on here but it also depends on the quality and price of the dish. Please take this as help advise and not a sales pitch. If you would like to have a look at our two best selling Satellite sytems and let us know your thoughts- That goes to everyone too.

One logs in most days, using his considerable knowledge to assist funsters. He has no spammy links in his signature but you can reach his website if you click on his name and look at his profile, which you do because he is clearly an expert his name is SatandPCguy.

The other; ignores the rules, puts two crappy spam links in his signature and jumps on a thread not to help but to sell his products. His name is LA Leisure who is now banned:RollEyes: Bye Bye Mr :spam:
