Nothing like as good as Rapidoman’s wrapping of his cupboards, but today refurbed a couple of out camping tables using grey fablon. Sorry I didnt take ‘before’ photos but the table on the left is 15 years old and our daily ‘outside’ table for the motorhome, its turned out well, and now colour matches our current vehicle and accessories,,,,fablon, still fab!

When I was a kid, my older brothers told me that ‘FAB’ on Thunderbirds stood for Funderbirds Are Brilliant ! it made perfect sense to me as a young southerner at the time and I believed it for years!

That reminds me, I've got to put some on our hob glass covers again seeing as the original hob was replaced ... must go and dig it out!

not wanting to undermine your great project but this is one I completed earlier ... actually a lie but quite a good example of what can be done.

What a great job, the finish looks (y). This has re-inspired me to do same. Can I please ask what company you purchased the fablon from. I nearly started covering my doors last year, but the fablon I chose (eBay) wasn’t very good . Cheers.

My marble overhead locker doors, ate into the payload a bit but I like the result more than the original wood effect.
did you only do the front or the sides as well?

I used wrapdirect.com the quality of the material is really good cost bit more than the stuff you can get from diy shops but worth it .It comes in longer rolls as well.

Okay, okay ... we get the message! 😁 I totally agree the stuff from 'normal' shops is always pretty crappy, if you're gonna do a job like this you want a quality product as it's not something you want to have to do again plus the thinner stuff is more likely to split and crease so the final outcome could be less pleasing.

To be fair the fablons fine for smaller jobs like the little coffee tables , bought from the Range.

Yes I agree, if a piece on a coffee table etc gets marked/damaged it's easy enough to replace, not sure I'd want to do that on a cupboard especially if you have to buy another roll to do it as it might not quite match the original due to printing differences so you'd end up having to do the whole lot again.

This is the type of job where you only want to have to do it once.
