Hi everyone, went to Newbury motorhome show 21st May 2011. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience for the second year running. We have been looking to increase our fuel economy on our 2.4 ford transit and were offered at 99.99 a unit that fitted quite easily onto the battery of our mh. So after 650 mile trip loaded and unloaded fuel usage was exactly the same......... it did not work for us. The company quoted "28 day 100% money back satisfaction guarantee" on their flyer. However.................. telephone no. 07971 227245 lists as wrong number, no other contact no. provided on p/wk. Research on the internet revealed another tel no. their welsh contingent/rep. He explained he purchased a product from the company apprx 3 years ago and for some reason they had promoted him from purchaser to rep for the company. So finally after having returned the unit special delivery to an address in Tottenham, London, and a call to trading standards we are trying (looks like successfully) to get a refund through our bank, even though we paid by debit card and not credit card. Don't normally have the call to applaud our banks but looks like they're going to come through, after having sent all proofs of purchase and guarantees + a bit of form filling. Good old Barclays plc. Moral of this story BEWARE! On a lighter brighter note we would like to give credit to BPS Access Solutions Ltd. for the all singing all dancing ladder we purchased at the same show. They could not have done enough by way of customer service. Ladder step arrived bent and unusable so new step delivered and compensation provided. Nice little company.

Just about everyone on here was thinking "who would fall for that, it can't possibly work", you had a go. You did a decent test and cleared up any doubt, so we should all thank you.

"We" are not that cleaver, not long ago they said the world was flat but a brave person proven "us" wrong.

We fell for something similar about our hard water.

Only forked out about £50 I think.

Turns out there was too much Viagra in our waste water.

Now those are different. Discussed in electronics circles years ago, "can't possibly work" but sometimes they do.

Two variations, magnet round pipe and bits of wire round pipe.

Water supplies vary a lot from region to region so maybe they work for some specific areas.

So I wasn't a complete prat then?

It didn't seem to make any difference but it did have lots of flashing lights which was reassuring

Sorry to stick to the slightly off-topic theme of magnets and hard water, but I knew I'd read something about it online, and it's on one of my favourite non-motorhome forums, here:

On a more general note, anything that sounds too good to be true, normally is. A healthy dose of scepticism never goes amiss when appraising any new "wonder product" (especially anything that makes a big claim, has lots of "sciencey" sounding copy, and claims there's a conspiracy against it by "the establishment")
