Hi Guys n Gals
I bought a spare wheel hanger kit for my 2014 Pilote Reference G690 A class on ducato chassis.
currently on my back underneath the MoHo comparing the holes in the chassis to the supplied bits.
Not sure if I have a kit that will do several vehicles!! Anyone done the fitting and has photos of under the vehicle of it fitted.
No instructions provided with the kit. 4 x bolts, 4 x rivet nuts, 2 flanged nuts supplied.
Any help would be appreciated. I have a rivet nut set to fit the unit. Just need a bit of clarification. Cheers in advance.

Depending on your chassis you may need to buy some longer bolts at location A in lower photo to go through chassis , as they often supply a different fixing. Let us know if you need more help

The 3 other brackets are identified with..H20, G20 and J20. These pics are of the cross member behind the rear wheel and the member in front of rear wheels showing the obvious holes for fitting.

Hi Vanderek, thanks for the reply. The top pc seams to match my underside as it is a flat surface. Just gauging the single threaded hole on forward crocs member (rear axle member) looks about M6. Quite a tight curve to the lowering cable isn’t it!! Just need to tap the main threads to clear any unnecessary gunk and then fit rivet nuts.

We are on a non alko Peugeot Boxer with chassis extensions, and our spare wheel carrier is mounted on a crossmember between the two chassis leg extensions.

So ha ha outer rivnut fitted. The one closest the the chassis won’t allow the rivnut tool in the locate before fitting. Maybe use a steel sleeve through the chassis and fit a long bolt and nut. As the hole in the chassis is hexagonal I should be able to fit a sleeve to prevent crushing the chassis!!

Rather than the rivet nuts you can use M10 x 100mm bolts straight through for the winch mount. it worked a treat for mine. Use Nyloc nuts mind with washers.

Here you go this is on my P650GJ fitted it myself.
I have just bought the kit and I am about to do this. What sort of tool did you use to insert the rivnuts? Some of the holes look very close to side members.

Hi, don't need a specific tool just bolts and washers. If you search on Youtube there a few videos of people fitting them this way. I used the bolts that came with the kit pus an 8mm nut and a washer.

Hi Patrick. Thanks for your reply. Yes I have seen those videos, I was just interested in what people had done for this job in real life.

I've just fitted mine and done exactly the same. Don't know why Fiat don't provide M10 bolts to do it that way, and it's far easier and quicker to fit. As there's no substantial weight associated with the winding gear housing, using nylock nuts and just nipping them up works just fine. The wheel suspension bracket at the centre of the chassis crossmember uses M 8 bolts, and the nuts are already welded inside the box section. I used washers on these, and applied a little bit of thread lock to the bolts as well. Both the 2 x M10 and 4 x M 8 bolts I used were stainless steel.
