Two questions for the experts out there;
1. wish to change the internal light bulbs over the lounge/bed so that we can camp off electric for longer on Aires. Currently have MR11+c 12v 10w with 2 small prongs (a sod to remove) fitted so which ones to buy?
2. have thought of towing a small car but was led to believe that this is not possible Something to do with the chassis Anyone had this fitted?? Many thanks:thumb:

Ebay is a good place to start, here's an example......

LEDs use a fraction of the power of normal bulbs.

As for the towing, it'll be down to your gross train weight displayed on the vehicle's plate. It's the highest number. You need to subtract your gross weight from that to reveal the total weight of car/trailer/a-frame combo that you can pull.

We don't tow and don't feel the need, but there are plenty that do!

i got 2 of those LED lamps for the cooker hood they work fine save loads of power but the dim setting on the hood now does nothing and its all to do with the resistance of the lamps so if you have a dimmer they may not dim and fitting a resistor to make them dim defeats the object of having LED's

as for fitting a towbar it may not be recommended due to the converter extending the chassis at the rear of the van or more likely not extending the chassis to the rear of the van.
many mid-sized vans do not have a structure strong enough to fit a tow bar to as they just extend the chassis with enough strength to support the rear of the conversion.

This won't apply to yours because its a panel van conversion, but it might well be the case that the converter has located something underneath (eg. water tank, etc.) that might prohibit the fitting of a towbar assy.:Sad:

i did not know it was a panel van conversion just assumed it was a coachbuilt.

just looked at autosleepers website and it says max towing weight 2500kg
but lower down it says Locking slide out storage tray under rear floor.
so maybe the tray is located where the towbar would fit.
