Are all these birds native to Germany? I have never seen a Dipper before.
Keep posting the photos. Love 'em.
Here in the UK I've seen them in lots of places including Cornwall, Lake District, here on Skye, and even in urban centres like Inverness - they just require a fast-flowing stream or river with a good stone they can dive from and get back to! - a lovely little bird, fascinating to watch.

On and off for many years.

When I was working our town centre office backed out onto The Gala Water (fast and shallow at that point) and we would see Dippers almost every day. There were Kingfishers but usually all one would see was a flash of blue as the went by. Also a family of otters used to come and visit.

There were also rats but that is another story!

I looked at the bird feeders this morning and wondered where all the Goldfinch had gone until i spotted this perched in a neighbours tree.

I think your goldfinches must have come here - I haven't seen any for a few days but there are a good dozen or more on the feeder just now!

Wow! blown away by all the lovely comments, thank you to each and everyone of you!!

As CWH pointed out - the list below is correct with regards to the above photos. (Could not edit my initial post to insert names.)

From now on I shall put the names of each bird directly above the image.

These images are of the same bird (Dipper; named for their bobbing or dipping movements)

... if you look closely to the 2nd image you can clearly see from the Dippers breath just how cold it was!
