Question!...For garage owners and mechanics…please:cry:
Fiat X250 130 multi Jet…2011…(in a new motorhome)..
When is the first service due…looked in the service book and no mention of date or milage…
In my previous 2008 the motorhome before this new one with the same X250 130 mutijet engine…..I am 90% sure we had to have the first service at 1000 miles or kilometres…but not 100% sure and I think the first service was free……
Does any body have positive information….

Thank you ..Mel:thumb:

Just been in the same situation, got ours in May last year but it was registered in April, I asked the fiat garage and they said 20000 miles or within one week of the registration date,so every year, so we had to get it done for going away this sunday.
Cost £220

I thought all new vehicles had their oil dropped at the 1st thou, so that any impurtities lurking in the block etc hopefully dropped into the sump with the oil whilst it was still 'reletively' thick and once that one was done then it is the next normal service interval for the given vehicle. e.g. 12mths or X miles

They certainly used to, but not now adays for most.
The running in process and a like doesn't exist.

Hi Mel
That question is too important to second guess or rely on info from here contact your dealer or Fiat for the definitive answer
Your warranty depends on it

I am in exactly the same situation (also with a rapido, but a 7090df).

My reading of the book is that the only prescribed service interval for this engine is 45000km, but with an oil change at 12 months if this is sooner. No mention of any 1000mile service, which I queried with the dealer who confirmed that this is the case.

Since 20 September 10!
Whilst the oil change periods have increased. A lot depends on what a vehicle is doing long or short runs. Shopping trips school runs are killers of engines. Motorhomes have a few long trips but there seems to be a number of owners who start them for a short while charging batteries etc.
If nothing else more frequent oil and filter changes are the cheapest service a vehicle can have.
