Hi all I have attached a thread from my local news paper regarding a car becoming detached from motor home

As the story reads it was a horrific experience for those concerned.

Sounds like he got out to check the hitch and didn't put the handbrake on the motorhome ..... so easy to get into trouble when you're least expecting it.

A friend of mine's father jacked up the front of his Escort in his sloping drive and it slipped off and started rolling slowly down the slope. He ran behind it thinking he could stop it ... he couldn't and was run over and dragged down the drive underneath the car. He was in intensive care for several days, finally recovered but never worked again and was never the same man.

So easy ...

hope he's ok but the moral of the story is if you have a problem try to get on the flat before trying to sort it out or use wheel chocks if you cant.

Whist I was in the Army, a 26 tonne Warrior infantry fighting vehicle rolled forward across the park whilst the crew were preparing it for a power pack lift.
It was quite funny at the time watching three guardsmen trying to stop the vehicle rolling away by pushing on the front. Luckily, a fourth chucked a gunplank into the track and roadwheels to stop it dead.
This situation could have been much worse had the three soldiers been sandwiched between the vehicle and a wall, for instance.
It's amazing sometimes how brains can go into neutral in these situations and how people can take the most 'logical' actions to put things right when clearly they are being ridiculously stupid.
We hope the gentleman concerned recovers quickly and our best wishes go out to him and his wife, who has clearly suffered too.
