After nearly ten days of intermittent trouble connecting to Vodafone P Mobile (driving me to dispair), receiving a variety of error warnings sprinkled with periods of perfect performance and despite being told that my laptop had "conflict" problems by the Vodafone expert in the Faro shop :Eeek:, the real solution seems to have been found.

A faulty/worn out SIM.

New SIM card in and all now going well. :thumb:

may be a silly question but how does a simm card wear out unless you keep changing it?

When in Blighty the card lives in the change pocket of my wallet.

When in Portugal it is sometimes in the dedicated slot in my Sony Vaio and sometimes in the separate dongle... maybe moving it from location to location over a couple of years wore it out... I guess that counts as "changing it"

Actually, a few years back I had a Vauxhaul Omega with a fancy stereo that would take a simm and become a phone as well, very clever, but simm swapping between phone and stereo killed the simm very very quickly, which was a bugger. It was a works simm, I had a quiet couple of days untill they got me a new one:ROFLMAO:
