What "corner steadies" do you guys use? Recommendations required! (1 Viewer)

I think I'm becoming a little obsessed with buying things for Bob, our MoHo, new head unit with cameras and iphone car play, tyrepal TPMS, Toad A frame, a new Toyota Aygo (WTF???!!!) for the A frame, Milenco levellers, all sorts of cutlery and pots n pans n dishes n glasses. I've checked with my therapist (SHMBO) and she says it's a shopping virus I've picked up as a result of not adhering to my regular work routines because of F C-19 ( most of you are grown ups - you'll work it out eventually!) I now realise that I MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO STOP BOB FROM ROLLING FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS WE WALK(?!) AROUND IN HIM!! Please recommend some steadying legs for us, I've looked at lots of AL-KO type products that will attach to the chassis rails but can only find one supplier, caravanparts.co.uk, and they seem to be very expensive for what is basically a few bits of angle iron and a screw thread. What do you guys use? Give me the pros & cons as well please.

Why would anyone want corner steadies , they will stop the van rocking 'N rolling. We always get a good night's sleep when it's blowing a hoolie and the vans rocking, love it.

I use some of those expensive hydraulic ones referred to, and wouldn't be without them, but somewhere in the garage i have a pair of the Alko ones I had removed.
I have seen a few vans over the last week with bottle jacks on each corner, which if you can spare the payload is a much cheaper option.

I used these, lightweight, two at the back and two just behind the front wheels at the jacking points, just make sure you leave a note or some reminder on the steering wheel so you don’t forget and drive off.

If Bob rocks and wobbles as you walk around, it must be fun to drive on a windy day or being passed by a high sided vehicle. Fit air assist bags to the rear suspension to take the bounce out

That cribbing although possible in an emergency has no tolerance for any movement at all and relies on the limited friction between mismatched materials on a slope. It looks like the caravan is in use with the windows open. Imagine rolling over in bed, farting and the whole van shooting off it's blocks and down the hill. Pure stupidity to even try that sort of masterpiece

Looks Australian though, so that'll be alright cobber!

The caravan is bad enough ... but who on earth would use the steps like that!

I've been pondering using a couple of scissor jacks 'upside down' so they can be permanently fastened to the chassis and just deployed as required ... you can get them with the hex nut shaft on the shaft but they are about 50% more expensive however in reality all you need is a socket of the right size to go over the 'loop' fittings to be able to wind them with a drill etc (with suitable attachment).

We have rear steadies but never use them. The rear Air bags stiffen the suspension to stop any noticeable rolling.

If you look some up they give the extended height, generally the heavier weight it can carry the higher it will go.
