fair comment..

We shop at Aldi, save 20 - 40% on food bill, fill up at Shell and save Shell points for a free tankful. ..
Tesco fuel is about 1p cheaper than Shell in our area but it's 10 miles extra to go to Tesco so it must balance out.

Just waiting for our vouchers to be delivered and will then book taking the tunnel for the first time. Previous years have used the ferry but thought we'd try it this way for a change.

Have previously taken the ferry for the break in driving and as something different for our daughter.

Yeah.. fully agree :thumb: I worked for Shell UK Oil for six years at the Stanford refinery .. I know what goes into Shell premium fuel and it's not what they sell to the supermarkets.

I didn't want to say that for fear of another reverse polarity thread .. :roflmto:

now look what you've done :whatthe:

Yes, 1 Point for every £2 spent on fuel

1 point for every £1 of fuel if you use a Tesco credit card. Paid for a return trip in April and August

3 glorious years, previous 18 a Tugger!
Tunnel just right !

Used ferry and down the hole:ROFLMAO:

Prefer the 30 min trip with no hassle and a variable arrival time so you do not need to sweat or sit about.

Thank god for Tesco, nearest we have here in Aberdeenshire:RollEyes:

Two trips booked allready "down the hole"

Have fun all ..... just love the planning stage :thumb:

Tunnel is great in the winter but prefer ferry in summer, it's become part of the trip.

A giant Toblerone from the shop, enjoying the sea air while watching the white cliffs disappear as you get close to France .. :thumb:

By contrast the tunnel is fast and convenient but has no 'holiday' atmosphere ..

We are using the tunnel for the first time in May (courtesy of Tesco - cost=£0 instead of £120)
We used to say the ferry was part of the holiday but to get cheap crossing we went at silly o clock and it became a bit of a chore when the boat was busy and not all facilities open.
So decided to forgo our Cafe Rouge vouchers for Chunnel and will see how it goes..........

Totally agree, seems more adventurous on a boat, somehow.

It certainly is, especially when the ship is heaving, the passengers are heaving and it's washing about on the deck .. .. now you know why there is a step into the gents .. :roflmto:

I prefered the old ferries with open top deck and seating .. great memories from the 70s.

basically, you apply for a Clubcard, then save the points every time you shop .. then trade for freebies.

I don't subscribe .. I refuse to give them my personal details and have them track my shopping habits , plus, it's cheaper to shop at Aldi and save money to spend as I please.
