Just read the reverse polarity thread.

I have never even thought about it before joining Fun.

I love going to the motorhome shows and wandering through the sales areas.

I am staggered by the stuff dealers are able to sell to us motorhome enthusiasts (and at the price they do so.)

For example...

Special toilet paper... (I use ordinary stuff)

Expensive toilet chemical... (thanks to Fun I learnt about biological washing liquid at 99p a litre)

Reverse polarity adapters... (unplug before fiddling with electrical thingies)

Tyre covers to protect the rubber from the sun... (???)

Honda gennies (Kipor are much more affordable)

Can you nice people add to the list?

JJ

Your a mind reader JJ, I have been trying to remember about the loo stuff, now sorted and written down so I don't forget again. So much unnecessary things, whats this with having to buy special melamine sets of cups saucers etc, never used anything but china and never had a thing break yet, and how many of us have a spare tea set at the back of the cu board, and a cup of tea is so much nicer out of one.

Oh Humble One there are many different brands... all you need is a washing liquid OR a fabric conditioner which have the word "biological" on it.

This is the one I use... part of Sainsburys' Basic range... bought at 99p a litre. Lasts weeks on full time living (Porta Potti 365)

Now please rise from your knees and continue with your duties...

Very, very much so Forestboy... IMO much, much better than the enviromentally damaging blue stuff... takes some "go's" with the biological stuff to get maximum benefit 'cos the nasty blue stuff "fights" the good enzymes initially. After a few rinses though you are away!

(and I use it in my flush water too.)

He wants to know if this stuff breaks down the solids like the chemical stuff is supposed to do ? ( as the neck of the cassette is too small to get his hand in!:Eeek::Eeek::Eeek::Eeek:)

How much of the laundry liquid do you put into the tank then? I'm just about at the end of my bottle of Aquakem Green - the smell makes me heave, so I'm interested in trying this out as I was going to try Elsan chemicals next (Thetford loo). Only use to loo in the night if desperate anyway but happy to save some money :thumb:

Without going into too much detail, I can report that I have never had any problems when it comes to emptying my potty holding tank. :thumb:

On reflection, this might be because either I am such a dainty person the solids are of suitable dimensions as to promote easy flowing  or the bio washing liquid is assisting in the matter (so to speak) by reducing the dimensions::bigsmile:

Hi there Ninjayorkies... you only need a small amount (I use one capful and add a couple of cups of water.) The thing is the enzymes go to work "digesting" the "matter" and multiply as they do so... it is a natural process that does actually happen all on its own (hence the SOG system) but the addition of the liquid does, I believe, speed up the process.

I don´t sniff much when emptying and have no aroma problems myself...::bigsmile:

JJ

PS. Please note. I am not an expert. I just know it works for me in my systems (Porta Potty and Hymer holding tank.)

:ROFLMAO: I try to hold my breath so as not to get a whiff of the chemical. For the sake of 99p against £10+ I will give it a go. Ta very much
