Does anyone have any good tips for removing old silicone sealant from around a sink and the shower room wall? Jenny

Hi use a small paper scraper/ filling type knife-- if it is on paper covered boards be very careful not to go through the paper- :Eeek: :thumb: It may be worth while masking up and cutting through the paper on the board then re masking and sealing.

I've just been doing that, on the roof removing an aerial. If you can get an end and lift and slice under it keeping it as a string it helps.

Once you get the worst of it off using a knife, moisten one of those green cloth scourers with turps and gently rub the remains of the sealent. It should go soft and then just rub off. You might have to keep moving your finger on the cloth because it might clog up.

silicone sealant remover, comes in a tube like the sealant, available from B&Q or most DIY's
