Just been quoted £210 for a Fiat X250 dealer service ( 11,000 miles on the clock so assume its a low milage service ) , the mechanic blamed the price of Formula synthetic oil for the high cost – does this price sound right or should I be shopping around do you think ?

Shop around for sure, just make sure they are vat registerd for warranty compliance and use Fiat or OE parts
about £120 plus vat here as a guide, and we take the wheels off, clean and adjust rear brakes, grease the alko torsion bars (if You have an Alko Chassis)all in

Shop around for sure,

Yes would really like to do that but in North Wales Fiat shops are few and far between ..... what I save in the service I might lose in the fuel getting there and back .... and the garage knows it no doubt .

Cheers all

We had ours done at a Fiat main dealer in October. Prices (rounded) were as follows:

Low mileage service £83
MOT £54
Oil £65
Bits and bobs (in filters) £19
Total £211 + VAT

In that they also did a full visual check (FOC), and sorted out a wiring problem to the number plate lights that were intermittant.

So depending on what's included, its not bad value. I guess also the oil will have gone up significantly since October. It's currently well over £10 per litre.
