Hi Everyone
My son and his wife have been looking at their options for a first motorhome, and are considering a truck camper on a European style pick-up. Having considered the three basic options available (buying a small motorhome, converting a van, and a truck camper), it seems on the long run that a truck camper will probably come out cheaper than the other options due to only having to insure one vehicle. Here are my thoughts on insurance - because Nigel is under 25, insurance is an issue and one of the main reasons behind the thinking of getting a truck camper. Rather than paying a large amount for an every day car as well as insurance for a motorhome, he will be for just one vehicle. Nigel is already paying close to £1.5k a year for a Vauxhall Astra and will probably pay close or more for a motorhome, but will most probably pay less than these two combined if he was to get a pick-up. Plus there is the maintenance/tax of one vehicle over two vehicles.
Can anyone point to a good place to look at second-hand truck campers?
Does anyone have any advice on this?
Thanks for any advice,
Rog
