It's Thatcham Cat One, approved by the insurance companies and makes a lot of noise. What more do I need?
A tent keeps the rain off you, why do you need a motorhome? I have no idea what they fitted for you.

If you can find out, and tell me, I will happily point out ALL of the reasons that after 30 of security experience of ONLY working on motorhomes we fit our bespoke product.

In the mean time as you have asked I have attached a comparison chart for you to see for your self.

It does make me chuckle so many people keep pointing at "motorhome security specialists" where they blatantly also offer car alarms, van alarms, caravan alarms so could hardly be described as "specialists" in anything.

Having read all that

I don't have the Growler siren and I don't think it comes with a conditional lifetime guarantee.

I didn't want a loud sounder inside and I definitely won't keep the van for a lifetime.

I'm not sure what other options I could have, but I do have all I need and its £600 cheaper.
That will pay for almost two years insurance premium now that it has its Thatcham Cat One alarm fitted

Fair enough, and I am not knocking what you have fitted, but equally I cannot stand back and let people suggest that they have the same when they don't

Strikeback is Thatcham approved. With your Funster discount is about £540 installed. :clap2:

It has a fully enclosed "Tilt sensor to protect the bonnet it cannot corrode, go rusty, your will have a pin switch that will.

Strikeback has a dash mounted LED for deterrent and also an external LED for continued deterrent when the blinds or curtains are drawn. Yours will have a single dash mounted LED. We do this because of instanced where screwdrivers are used to force a lock, the door opened and the thief runs off when the alarm sounds, good, but leaving the door damaged and often inoperable.

Strikeback has a Accessory Protection Circuit as standard to allow you to export the alarm outside the motorhome to protect bikes on racks or trailers for example. Many use it at home and connect it round a drain pipe so if a thief attempts to cut the handbrake cable and roll the van away from the house, the alarm will sound even if the thieves haven't got as far as breaking in. Your Cobra will not have this, and other systems it is an eye wateringly expensive option sometimes £200 - £300 ! I use electric bikes and want them alarmed when they are on the bike rack, why should it be an option?

Our internal sensor is a hyper frequency module, hidden in behind the dashboard, not ultrasonics as you will have. Blown air heating and Air Con use effects ultra sonic sensors, so they are not recommended.

The Circa £540 fitted for Funsters includes the two cab doors, and a hardwired switch to the caravan door and one external locker, and our sensing is Normally Closed (N/C) system, which means that the alarm expects to see a "signal" from the caravan door for example, all the time, this means that the alarm will alert you when you arm the system that there is a door open or a fault for example.

If you have wireless sensors, if there is a fault or say the battery is flat, it won't work, and you have the hassle of checking the sensors regular to be 100% sure all it as it should be and if you have a Normally Open (N/O) switch, like you would see on a "pin switch" popping out on a car door to turn on the interior light, well in the same way that it the switch was stuck and the "pin" didn't pop out when you opened the door the light wouldn't work, well the alarm wouldn't trigger either

There are a lot of other small but important things, but everything we do is done for a reason, through experience, using motorhomes ourselves and our staff using motorhomes, talking to literally thousands of people over the years, listening to feedback and constantly trying to make the product as good as we can (y)

Sounds like you fit them to caravans too, not that there’s anything wrong with that.:ROFLMAO:

?
Was always under the impression that Can bus based alarms were easier to defeat
???
Perhaps I misunderstood

The problem comes when the chassis electronics are attacked, using a box of tricks costing as little as £300 for say a Fiat chassis, if the alarm is controlled by CAN it gets turned off when you need it the most

The same way that for £60 you can buy a box that will, at a flick of a switch render anything with a GSM SIM card useless.

The Government really should try to stop these devices being so readily available
