100mm rain and 60 mph winds for Beni ! Could be exciting.

The forecast that I have just looked at says winds up to 40mph for around midnight then dying down for Monday, plenty of rain forecast though. On a pitch at Imperium at Villajoyosa a few miles South of Benidorm but no chance of being flooded though.

We're at El Pinet, camperpark just south of Alicante where it's currently cloudy but warm and dry - but the locals are expecting it to get a bit rough later and overnight. We moved down here from Valencia to try and avoid the weather system we've been watching on Ventusky for a few days - agree it looks like it's gonna be a bit naughty up there. I think snow is a bit of exageration although it's probably quite likely in the coastal mountains, just not here on the coast.

Funsters Derek & June (Portland) are expecting to fly in to Alicante late tonight - think that might be optimistic!

Yes, I got the weather warning pushed through from the Spanish Met Office (AEMET), even though sitting at home in Blighty with the sun streaming through the window.

Flying to Alicante next Sunday... hopefully! ;)

But because elf and safety has not arrived in Spain yet, ? watch where your going, and if walking or driving in flooded areas be careful. ? Bob.

It's raining here in Alcossebre, but wind has lulled. I don't think for long. Time to Sprint out and put some water in the tank.

Hi Bob and Janie
Can you expand on Alicante airport closures please.
I fly in tomorrow from UK.
Thanks

Hi, best check with your airline, at the moment they are saying 24 h closed, its causing a lot of problems because some flights are cancelled and the ones running are diverted to Murcia, ? but then the hire cars are dropped and picked up at Alicante, and apparently the beniconnect bus transfers are not licensed for Murcia. ?
It would be less hassle if your flight was rescheduled in a few days time, as we are on red alert and predicted winds of 130k and waves of 9m. ? Bob.

I would think its a bit of both, I suspect after the fire there is loose debris, it should all be finished by Wednesday, ? but we have a lot to put up with in the meantime. ?

Waves of 9 m ?

Our front door is about about 16 centimetres higher than the prom and about 150m from it. ?
? This is why people like to rent it for their holidays Chris. ? Bob.

We're not doing too bad at Aguilas at the mo. Given the forecast we thought we were in for a stinker of a day for Mum & Dads first day here but it's not been too bad at all.
Managed to stroll round a warm but breezy market at San Juan de Terrios, came back for a beach side coffee in town and spent the rest of the afternoon quietly getting acquainted with a few bottles of blanco in the awning :) 82 & 83 and still grinning like idiots:giggle:
Lovely for us to return the favour to them after so many years of us flying out here to stay with them in their van.
Good luck everyone, least we know it shouldn't last too long down here.(y)

Dry at the moment here in Vera, but strong winds and rain forecast. We are up a narrow track at a pet sit in the country, which is clay-so been told only 4 x 4's can get up and down it once it has rained. So we will be staying in our RV for a bit longer until the rain has been and the sun has dried the clay again ;)

Accuweather is currently forecasting 54 mm of rain over next twelve hours. I am pitched on lowest point at Villasol. Enquired at reception about contingency plans in case of flooding.
Response - there aren't any but technos have cleared leaves from drains so we hope it will be alright. The drain points are gaps in the wall opposite me. They are level with the bottom of a ditch that runs a couple of feet below the road surface outside the site.
My concern is that if the water level outside rises, water will run into rather than out of the site.
(The guy one van away from me hasn't even taken down his awning!)

We were on a site in Tarragona right on the beach-when we had a bad storm (this was November). The water was rushing down the mud tracks into the sea. Our RV was on jacks, but a Concord even closer to the sea did nothing, and the water covered his wheels! The next day the water was all gone! Good luck & hope the rain is not too bad where you are :)
