You can book a test ride on honda’s website....but the SH300i is discontinued now. But 300 Forza is a good comparison ( although I don’t think it will fit in your vans garage Lanerboy

If you want to have a 100 mile trip around the mountains I suspect neither would cope very well but if you want to just want to potter about the area than it is great.
I have an SH125. I have told this story before on here. When a friend's scooter gave up when going up Mont Ventoux, I took my wife to the top, then went back twice to collect the friend and his wife. Then took them all down again, one by one. The SH125 never missed a beat.

I presume there are no licence issues if you are considering an SH300. If you buy an SH125 abroad, in Spain for example, it might be unrestricted like mine. Or you could make it unrestricted yourself, I suppose.

We have a Sym 125 Crox
It handles the two of us ( total 28 stone ) no problem.. and on flatish roads will maintain an indicated 60 MPH
We use it for shopping so it takes us, a full back box and a couple of shopping bags full

I have had a vision, SH125 and a SH300, the 300 was brilliant I loved it BUT the only fault I found was that its higher than the SH125, the seat height is a problem unless you are a bit taller than me, I am 5f 7inch, I had a problem keeping the bike upright when stationary and I got fed up with holding it up at lights with my toes. I have a Kawasaki J300 and its brilliant, it is a bit heavy but I travel mine in a trailer

Hi all
I am after a scooter to put in the garage of the MH as I do not want to tow anything

I am thinking of either a honda sh125 or sh300 I would ideally like the 125 for lightness but I am worried it will struggle with 2 larger people on it about 30 stone combined ?

Has anyone got either of these models and can comment on what they are like especially performance 2 up but other pros and cons too
hi
I have a honda 125 Dylan in the garage that me and the wife used to ride two up when we had it on the motorhome, ill sell that if its any use to you

Had lots of KTM off road bikes and love the brand but feel the wife will not be comfy of this type of bike
Not all Ktms are off road bikes the 690 Duke is a great bike for a motorhome 160 kg fuelled up and ready to go. Very comfortable 2 up

Yes scooters are annoyingly practical ?
I put a Shad 33 box on the back of the bike which makes it a bit better though.

reminded me of this scooter in Turkey balancing a large gas cylinder - held on by his knees

Well after a bit of thinking I decided to buy the SH125 plenty powerful enough for what we want if I had bought something quicker I can just envisage my wife digging me in the ribs telling me to slow down LOL

Sounds perfect for the Thetford Bash ride out; are you attending?

When I lived in Bermuda I had a company scooter. I used to drive along with my toolbox between my knees and quite often an oscilloscope as well! oh, they were the days.:giggle:

I'm surprised they had scooters in those days as your avatar quotes experience from "April 1846" ??? Or is this an April fools joke ?

Our steed is a Honda PCX 125 carrying our combined body weight of 23 stone. Plenty of space under seat and together with the fitted but removable top box we can store or carry most of requirements whether its shopping, clothing or picnic items. Never had any concerns reaching desired speed or acceleration always quick away from standing start.

The 125s are ok until you need to set off up hill with pillion. Enjoy it while it lasts. Ideally you need 1bhp per kg ??

I use a Rock n Roll wheel clamp at the front to stop it moving, also means that it will just stand up while I strap it down, didn't fancy using centre stand as it's a point load on the floor.

I just use this handlebar cross-braced webbing system to keep the scooter upright. Available at motorcycle dealers.

I am sorry but from past experience and as Martin has said you should use something to secure one of the wheels to hold it in place.
Someone is bound to come back and say that they have been travelling with a scooter in their garage for 200 years without any problems. Having toured for 4 years with a scooter, that just doesnt look right at the moment.

Honda Forza 125 with a large fatboy driving and the memsahib and the not inconsiderable weight of her handbag on the back. Quite happy pootling around at 70mph, albeit it takes a while to get there. Nippy enough about town 2-up.

Big advantage - you can gets lots and lots of bottles of fizz under the seat! I think I overdid it on the yoghurt though
