Dont know about any laws that prohibit it but there always is detectors on the beach in Benidorm and the police are always driving up and down so presume its allowed.

Metal Detecting

I've been metal detecting in Benicassim in october on the beach also on the La Manga strip without any problems ,There are a lot of english down here detecting in the sea and they're down here every year so you should be OK,they do say there is a total ban on detecting in Andulucia Alan

We re on Raco at the moment but hav'nt tried detecting on the beach ye,t there should be a few bob on there.
