How far can the flojet RV macerator pump it's contents using 1" corrugated hose (not layflat)?

I have 25 metres but thinking of getting more but don't want to waste my money if the pump can't handle it.

TIA

Bryan

I have 4 x 25m lengths i bought from Duncan, I have used 3 together no problem, but gravity was helping a bit.

I have got a spare 25m of unused roll flat, complete with fitted clips, yours for £25:Smile:

Can you attach/send me a pic of the clips so I can see if they are the same as mine :Smile:?

You dont have to pump it home Bryan, they have dumps in Spain:RollEyes:
Ps IMHO lay flat of any legth will reduce the distace you might get with round hose
100 meters is the max me thinks with round house But please remember when your tote is full, you still have a 100 meters worth in yer pipe:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well I just went outside and filled 100m of 1" hose with water and emptied it into a bucket, and I make it 11.154 gallons give or take a drop.

I am flipping freezing going indoors now. ::bigsmile:

No, thats what they call bu**shite :ROFLMAO:

3.1415x.5x.5x3937.0078-277.4195=11.145 gallons of shite

Area of a circle is Pi r2
Inches in 100 metre=3937.0078
An imperial gallon=277.419547 cubic inches

oop's looks like I transposed the 4 and the 5 in the last post. :Blush:

None of you so called mathmaticians have asked
Is the pipe internaly smooth or ribbed:Blush:
and internal rib will reduce the surface area severly reducing content volume :Doh:

Well, if we are getting all technical ..

the distance a macerater can pump is dependent on three factors.

* Pump output pressure.

* Hose Diameter.
we have seen that a 1" hose holds aprox 10 gal , that weighs 100 lbs , a 1/2" diameter will hold much less, so for the same pump output the distance it could pump would be greater, probably nearly double that of 1"

* Hose Type

Smooth bore is best, it offers the least resistance to the flow.
Convoluted offers greater resistance than smooth
Layflat is smooth but requires pressure to open it so the pumping distance is reduced , by how much ? I will leave Olley to do the testing :roflmto:

Summing up .. 1/2" smooth bore garden type hose will give the longest pumping distance.

I used 30mts of 1" smooth bore, clear, reinforced, flexible nylon pipe, being able to see what was happening (or not) was a definite advantage ..
