Walking round Nene Park today saw this Swan with it's wings "up" Don't often see them like this sooo whyfore?

That is a male mute swan rather than the more commonly seen bewick swan or whooper swan.

We used to have masses of them at Stratford upon Avon when I was a kid; Brian the Cob (male mute swan) was impressive for many years with his mate. They mate for life.

It is unusual to see them at Ferry Meadows then - most would be down the Bigg Market on a Friday night
