Thursday didn't quite go to plan, was going to get on our way to Salamanca and spend the afternoon there. Such a nice day we had a wander around the village and then sat in the sunshine, didn't get away until 3pm.

Arrived at Salamanca at 7:45, only 6:45 Portuguese time.
Had a knock on the door Friday morning a fellow funster Mickey, he wasn't sure of his username!

Went to the new Aire by the Repsol garage.

Decided to give Salamanca a miss and carry on towards Vitoria.
Stopped off to visit the oldest Church in Spain it dates back to the 7th century. San Juan Bautista at Banos de Cerrato.

This morning had a walk to Monasterio de Rodilla for coffee.

Mi's desert was interesting lemon sorbet with Cava.

Yep since the 17th Sept when we crossed only had two days of light rain, rest of the time wall to wall sunshine.

After staggering out of the restaurant sightseeing was not a good idea.
Note to self: Do sightseeing first.

Morning Mi & Lenny,
Looks like the set up on the Aire at Vitoria has changed since we stayed there about 4 years ago. It used to be in a cordoned off area where the red square is. The services used to be where the hatch marked area is. Are they still there?
The building marked by the blue square was some sort of health centre, and they must have been having some pre-natal classes because about 8 o'clock at night the place emptied out and there were about 50 heavily pregnant Spanish ladies "talking" at the side of our MH. It was noiser than a football match!!

Don't know which route north you are taking, but this is an 'interesting' piece of road to negotiate!!

Hi Barry and Margret, namwaldog , Aire looks as it is in Google pic, first two rows dedicated Motorhome space and service as marked out but no pregnant ladies.
We used a route out of Spain we handed before the N121 & N121-B across the boarder.

Now just south of Limoges at a nice little Aire at Pageas.
Got flashed on the D824 this morning I was doing 102kph, dual carriageway with 110 limit so my limit was a 100, I expect the camera picked me up as a lorry so should be ok.

Looks like they have had some of that wet suff, looks like a few people had trouble getting out. We've been here before and parked on the grass without any problems, staying on the tarmac tonight, we are only ones here.
