Hi All
We are having problems with our Garmin.
To cut a long story short for the first few trips it worked perfectly well and seemed to recognise the information we entered for the dimensions of the vehicle.
However recently we have error signs pop up to say the vehicle is not recognised (see pics). Have to say Garmin customer service has not been great the latest email I received was that it was down to mapping and they sent me a link!
It can’t be down to mapping as it happens on almost every trip.

Has anyone else seen these error messages? If so did you manage to find a fix? I reset the device to factory settings but still not fixed it! Thanks Adrian

I think you're misunderstanding the information message.

It's telling you that it doesn't have accessibility / suitability data for the road you're on, proceed at your own risk, etc.

I’ve had that and I came to the same conclusion.

What sort of roads are you on when it happens? Have you tried updating the maps?

I've also had the same message at times, although not very often.

Do you have it set to take the shortest route? That would often try to take you through some narrow back roads.

As others have said it's not the vehicle dimensions it doesn't recognise, its the road dimensions/ width which may not be on the map database.
I would try a map update first of all.
Although our older Garmin, it's a 760 and several years old, does give some daft instructions now and again its taken us many, many thousands of miles around Europe without too many dramas.

Richard.

They're due an update - so it tells me - but that needs to wait until I'm back home. I was on a road from a campsite in Leicestershire at the time.
