The engine manufacturers are able to tune for better performance knowing that the exhaust is "cleaned" by the Adblue, rather than having to tune for minimum emissions.
So rack it up a bit rich and rely on the add blu to bring it back down.

....er no. Otherwise it would lower fuel consumption.
If tuning motor surely it’s throttled or opened up which makes me think add blu doesn’t make any difference to fuel economy. I know when my old truck is under load the dashboard says 2 mpg or sometimes goes blank and that has ad blu.

Its far more complicated these days with the ECU as there are all sorts of power curves that can be set, altering not only the amount of fuel injected but when it is injected as well as the air intake valve. One diesel I had a few years ago had variable valve timing too.
