Looking listening to other motorhomers getting adblue in to adblue tank out off a canister with filler pipe, funnel, and it going all over and not in to the tank, I’ve done.
I did learn that go to a garage that sells it or services put in nozzle pull handle and fill tank no spillage and is cheaper especially in Europe.

You can buy a special filler tube that connects both ends (to tank and to canister) but you do need to make sure that the connectors are done up tight. It goes in a lot slower than you think as well. This one fits a Merc sprinter....

I bought a 5 litre canister with filler put it on tight but the end other wouldn’t go far enough to open the cap in the tank so I thought sod it go to garage put in nozzle pull handle job done.

The Adblue I've bought from Aldi comes with a handy flexible filling pipe. When the bottle is empty and washed out, it makes a great bottle for filling the windscreen wash too.

When filling from a garage forecourt you need two things and not have an 'A 'class merc.
You need a magnet for the neck of the filler to open the valve and another the ability to get the nozzle into the tank as they are made for trucks with a big tank on the side. The magnet is to stop MORONS from putting adblue into the fuel tank filler next to the adblue filler. My 'A' class does not have enough room to get a garage filler nozzle into the tank mouth. so I need to buy mine in 10 litre containers at twice the price. The garage nozzle will not fill the used container with cheper adblue unless you buy the magnet convertor to go around the neck.

All adblue pump nozzles are all universal same size for truck buses van motorhomes and cars and that’s across Europe, so you don’t have to mess around with pipes and funnel,

Hi I have got a 2017 Peugeot Boxer based Motorhome, just had to refill the Ad Blue for the first time so just bought a 10 Litre bottle from Halford, stuck a funnel in the filler and poured it in without any problems or spills at all.

That gives me heart because I hear more and more saying how it runs out.
We Bailey motorhome I bought 5 litres in France it had the filler we all tried to fill it run out so they told me go to garage and use the adblue pump and I have done ever since fill up with diesel and top up adblue if necessary easy.

We have a 20L adblue tank and a warning comes on when it is half full. Easiest for me is just to buy a 10L container the next time I am in for diesel. Never been in (noticed!) a petrol station that had an adblue pump yet so not adverse just 10L does nicely and saving a £ or two and carrying is more of a hassle.

As they say everyone to there own, but I still think it’s easier putting pump nozzle in the tank than messing around with cans pipes and funnels.
Also Adblue could be as low as 40 pence a litre Europe, UK best price I found was 79 pence.

Don't really know why there is all the fuss about Adblue. There will be hundreds of thousands of cars in the UK alone using Adblue besides motorhomers.

All diesel car some as far back as late 15 but all diesels today have to have adblue that’s why more and more garages sell lt now.
The pump nozzle is the same size for trucks buses vans motorhomes and cars.

I doubt you are saving the world, the EU is the only place on earth that uses synthetic pig p##s, you might need USA, India, China and Russia on board to have a crack at saving anything, all it is is a tax ruse, nothing more nothing less!!

I agree totally what you say about the rest of the world Britain is the leader in the world
But it still easy and cheaper filling up at a Adblue pump than messing around with canister pipes and funnels

Sorry to burst your conspiracy theory bubble, but US legislation from 2010 required new diesel vehicles made from 2016 to use Adblue, or as they call it, DEF, diesel exhaust fluid. The US is not the only country outside the EU either, and given the 5-7% improvement in fuel consumption, then why not?

The US is not the only country outside the EU either, and given the 5-7% improvement in fuel consumption, then why not?

NOT what our CAT fitter says, they don’t have Def systems on N American Caterpillar machines. As my Cat Dumptruck was the first in the UK and had nothing but trouble with adblue system, they have been updating it and modifying it on the hoof as there is no trucks in the US with adblue on them that they can learn from.

Yes they are, but Hymer in their wisdom made the bottom of the dashpanel too close to get the damn things into the hole, just not enough room to put it in the hole, bit like a letterbox really and when I droipped the cap down the front of the engine I could not see it or find it until a month later when I was delving in the engine compartment with the headlamp out.

You could be right, but I’m just saying what the top guy at Finnings Caterpillar said.
That said it’s four years old now and was the first CAT 772G 50 tonner in the UK at the time. Still can’t get my head around how spraying pig p##s into the exhaust reduces emissions but hey ho!

The engine manufacturers are able to tune for better performance knowing that the exhaust is "cleaned" by the Adblue, rather than having to tune for minimum emissions.
