1988 Converted 21 Seater Airport Luxury Courier Service Coach,Toyota Caetano Optimo. 4.0ltr turbo diesel, 5 speed manual gearbox, pas,and about 25ft in lenght with 18ft.6" living space inside Link Removed

11 Months mot 6 months tax, and 6 good tyers, registerd as a motorhome on the log book, class 4 mot, last owner had it for 5 years and kept a folder with receits init.

It was his on going project converting it to a motorhome so it still has a few things that need doing to it, wether i carry on with it as a motorhome
or re do it as a livein is undecided yet, Hmmmm.

The coach is 24v, its got 240v hookup for on site and 12v for off sites, still needs work to finsh that side of things off, i would like also to add 2 solor pannels in time.

The cab area has a CD player, driver and pasanger independent electric overhead fans, rear view reversing camera monitor system so you can always see whats behind you.[very handy], also a CB radio Link Removed

The livein area has a large opening window, a 2 ring gass cooker with grill, fridge, sink with tap, table, seating that coverts in to a huge 6x6ft bed Link Removed single bedroom at rear, wardrobe, toilet with wash basin, plenty of storage space, and a fire extinguisher.

On the out side it has 2 gass bottles in a locker, reverse camera, the tailgate lifts up to access the large boot, bike rack on the back as well as the towbar.
Anyway on with the pic's

something to hide. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

seriously, that is a fair comment, but usually the first post may be along the lines of how long you've been motorhoming, where youve been etc but the choice is yours of course, and i meant no disrespect to you. :thumb:

Hi - Great bus!

I've just purchased a Toyota Caetano 1985 - Got any tips on where to source spare parts? We need an indicator/lights lever, and already have machanics giving us bad vibes man!! But we love our bus! Any guidance for new bus owners gratefully received - Thanks - Mel x

Hi there....

I was VERY interested to see your article.. I actually ran 2 of these, altho not at the same time, way back in 1989 & the late '90s. My 1st 1 was a 19 seater Mk 1, with the smaller engine, a 4 pot, & the smaller boot, i thnk. This was sold to a guy in The Shetlands; The 2nd, was a Mk 1 with the 6 pot engine. MUCH more power, thankfully. :) And then, in 1995, i part exchanged tht for a Mk2 Optimo, which i still have. Sadly, off the road since 2006, but with a near £4000 engine rebuild, in mid 2006. I had to rebuild ALL of the engines in the above Minicoaches, but, NOT due to my misuse, i may add...!

I often wondered if i should do now, wht u have done there, as mine were being used for the 'proper' useage for touring Scotland & England before mid 2006..!

Soo, IF u happen to hear of anyone looking for a newer version of your's, just drop me a line... And, if your interested in seeing any pix, i can email them thru to u, ok....

All best regards,

Steve. (y)

Mel...I have a 1992 series 2 Caetano with the conversion almost completed.Re Spares: Caetano UK do some spares for these, and sometimes the series 2 stuff will fit the series 1. I had a problem with the brake load sensing valve (MOT fail) took ages before I found a small company that had some new seals. Big, Big problem with engine spares, probably worse with the series 1
I have a couple of spare wheels if you are interested 7.00R16LT (Light Truck) I always carry 2 spare tires now, we had a blowout on the M5 which shredded the tire, fitted the spare, but could not source another tire, so had to cut short the hols and make our way home to Darkest Cornwall and order 2 from our local commercial tire specialist (took 5 days to source)
Be Aware....the wheel nut on the Left Hand Side of the Bus are LEFT HAND THREADED !!!!
