Yesterday I went to buy some brake fluid and bought Motul, a good brand. When I got home, I put it on a shelf, right next to another 500 ml bottle and a Castrol 250 ml bottle.

Just been round to see a pal, and he gave me a half full litre bottle which I took round there about a year ago.

I'll probably buy some more soon anyway :whistle2:

John is right. Brake fluid, once opened is at risk of absorbing Moisture out of the atmosphere. Which when used (hard) can lead to "boiling" under braking and loss of brakes. Same if your vehicle is not often used, well known amongst those who have rarely used "classics". Mine has FULL synthetic brake fluid, which does not absorb moisture.

It's for my bike and DOT 4 is good enough. Would only use new fluid, but often use old fluid to start it off.
