Seeing the thread on the stolen Hurricane I'm getting paranoid about security, has anyone any experience with Disklok I'm thinking of buying one www.disklokuk.co.uk

I could never find one that would fit the wheel of my RV, they are all too small

Agree with Dazzer on this most of these things are only made for small van or car sized wheels that I have seen.

If it is of any help all the land rover lads around here swear by them :thumb: Apparently if a land rover is fitted with one they go nick one from elsewhere :thumb:

Have checked the wheel diameter on my RV at 40cm and Disklok are suitable up to 45cm.

Take your motorhome down to your local Halfords

Get a member of staff to try one on your vehicle - just smile nicely.

Then see if there is any "play" in it ie could they push pull to get it off.

Alternatively use two different type crooklocks done in an X position it means two extra keys, but its quite a deterrant.

You local safer neighbourhoods officers occasionally are given crooklocks to distribute so ask - you may get one for free.

Have a look at the 4tress steering wheel lock (also from Halfords). It is the baseball bat type that goes onto the rim of the steering wheel, really heavy and looks the part and Thatcham approved.

Have considered one of that type but I think a bolt cropper through the steering wheel will release them :Sad:

If the vehicle is manual try one of these Link Removed

I have one for my Hymer (Mercedes) difficult to get off even with the key. I feel I should have had lessons in being a contortionist when I bought it. No way can the pedals be operated with it fitted.

No good if an Autoclutch is fitted or for Automatics.

One sure way is to locate the lead to the fuel cut off solenoid and fit a secret switch to it.

The solenoid requires power to open the fuel valve to the pump, no power, it will not start !:thumb:
