Hi folks,can anybody advise on a decent sat reciever box that i can use my own viewing card on,I've got a dish and reciever box already but i can only get free channels,thanks in advance,Barry:thumb:

Its sucha con mate the answer is, either get multi room and have the other sat in your van. ir take your box from the house. I have tried and tried, Sky will not pair two boxes for me despite practically begging.

Any one else whom can im in the que.

Hi,

Not sure what 'viewing' card you mean, if its Sky, I think you need a Sky receiver.

I have some satellite receivers but as to cards ?

I use a Pace 12v sky box. It is a bit long in the tooth but works fine !

I just take the card out of the box at home and put it in the box in the van.

It is only the newer Sky box's that are clever enough to know the card is not matched up to the box

Must admit I was a bit worried a couple of months ago when they sent out the new cards, but happy to report all is still fine and the card still migrates from indoors to outdoors with no probs

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSShhhhhhhhhhh, I use a dreambox. Works a treat. Just take card from home box and put it in dreambox. I thought there would be a problem when sky changed to the new white cards, but it took the local geek just 10 minutes to get my white card working in my dreambox.

I only changed my house to Sky from Virgin last week on the proviso that the card would also work in the Motorhome. Both boxes are new and the card works in either

My card works in my box, it gives me all the FTA channels. However, I have sky sports package and movies,, does that still work ok?

I do not have movies or sports but do have the complete 'entertainment' package..
Everything on that works no worries !

No its a completely new language Just got it back after lending it to my son, whos own sat box had expired,
He was impressed with it
his comment that you have to put in effort at the begining to get the best out of it just about explains why i didnt get on with it, Im a plug and play type

Aha the sky man told me that I can get all my pay channels with the exception of SKY SPORTS, MOVIES, and PAY PER VIEW. But as the cycling is on Eurosport and I don't have Movies or Sky Sport........no problem

exactly my point and thanks for clarifying, any sky box will work, but theres a difference between working and getting what I have paid for.

But I would still give it a try Paul, in both Geo's and my box ( oooeerr !! )
