Hi can someone tell me if I will get funny looks if I turn up on a camp site with a blue ehu I have a standard orange one. But we were at Manor farm in Strete in the summer when we still had a tent. Some of the mobile homes were parked in the next row of pitches away from the hook up points and had extensions. I thought that would be a good thing to have, and always out for a bargain I see that blue artic cable is in some cases cheaper than orange.

EHU cable should be 2.5mm ..

Arctic blue is normally more expensive... were you comparing like for like .. ie both 2.5mm ?

If so then it was a bargain ..

If planning on winter camping buy arctic blue, it will remain more flexible in sub zero temperatures, making it easier to roll up.

I have a length of Blue, 2 lengths of Orange and a black rubber one purchased in Germany.

I choose the best one for the location as they are all different lengths.

I think it was Halfords these were not EHU cables but extension leads. So I would have to fit site sockets. They were both 2.5 but different lengths but meter for meter the blue was the best buy

well, we all know they are full of the brown stuff

next time just quote the CC rules... orange isn't compulsory

B* CONNECTING CABLE harmonised code
H07RN-F or H05VV-F or equivalent (BS6007 or
6500) 25 metres maximum ( + or – 2 metres)
long of three core cable [live (brown), neutral
(blue) and earth (green/yellow)] each core of
2.5mm2 section. Shorter cables may not reach
from the bollard to your van on some sites and
extra connector cables to add length are NOT
recommended. The Club cannot accept
responsibility for any damage or injury caused
by the use of extra connector cables. It is
recommended that the cable is coloured orange

for visibility in long grass.
