Most kids wanted a racing car or fire engine when they grew up, i actually wanted a campervan!! This year i decided i'm gonna get one, so after spending the last few months scouring ebay, gumtree and alike, realising the prices, i've come to the conclusion, i'm gonna make my own. I did a little reasearch on the net, how to turn a van into a camper in the eyes of the DVLA, I must say, it doesn't actually look that difficult. It's only today after purchasing a minibus and caravan, did i realise insurance was going to be a problem, after ringing around a few insurance companies and being refused, i decided to do a little more research. That is how i came across this fantastic site. One of your members had wrote a thread on insurance, pointing me in the direction of Sureterm Direct. All systems go again....now i've just got to built the thing...lol

I have seen some great self-builds, I am jealous of those that have the ability and the patience to build their own motorhome. Please do post some pics of your progress, plenty of people will be interested. Lots of experience here to help too.
