Hi, can anyone tell me what the current rate of the euro is in France and Spain, we can get it at 1.18 and wondered if it was a better rate when we arrive.

Have you got your nationwide card?

Still the best rate until November when they knock it on the head & start charging you for withdrawing cash in Europe.

Hi - Might be worth looking at Link Removed I sent off for one a couple of weeks ago after a recommendation. I have managed to change some at 1.2, the rate is always moving but if you monitor you might get a good rate.

Current rate over here in Tenerife is 1.18/1.19 and has been for around two weeks..so you have much the same over there

I buy euros when the rate is better in the UK and 1.18 is very good at this time. I doubt you will do better in Spain... noticed it moved down to 1.173 on Monday but at 1.18 (which I got - I haggle and buy in £500 lots)... just hold them to I need them on the next trip... sometimes I win, sometimes I loose.. last batch was 1.14 so that is e35 more at 1.18.

But if you use a nationwide card or have an Abbey (have to put £1k per month into account) in Spain you can use it with no charges.

This site is useful for checking rates. I just use my nationwide flex account. Will probably dump it for the Santander Zero though when NW start charging
