So what's the legalities about using a van abroad without a valid tax disc from Country of Registration?

If the vehicle tax expires while you are out of the country, how do you renew? Never thought of that before as it has never occurred..

It is illegal to use an untaxed vehicle abroad unless it has been exported .. nothing at DVLA suggests that this is the case

You need to come back to the UK for an MOT , no way round that so most do both at the same time ..

Yep the old style number plate. Norwich plates had VG at the end for eg H92 TVG was MIL's reg
