I've been faffing around with the house project (now finished) so today I took a few moments out to finish off the tv and puddle light wires and switches.

I've used a single round rocker LED switch; a second fuse spur and and a standard house junction box to wire up the system mods.

1. Locate and drill a 19mm apperture for the round rocker LED switch. This will be the switch for the puddle light. I've placed it at the top of the off-side wardrobe:

2. Drill a further hole through the side of the draw apperture (which lies below the fridge) and feed the wires through the divide. The rear of the rocker switch can be seen in the top left of the pic (no wires fitted yet):

3. Add the three wires leading to the rocker switch and connect all wires to a standard house junction box. I've managed to fit the 3A fuse within the junction box - very convenient(y):

4. Affix a couple of lengths of trunking. This is the wardrobe after all and you don't want the wires being snagged by coats etc. The excess wires seen at the bottom have been pulled back through and out of sight. (The trunking to the right protects the 12v power supply for the Avtex TV):

5. This is the final pic of the round LED rocker switch hiding under the mattress, next to the fridge:

Im thinking about making an over sliding door gutter and strip light, dont want to pay over £150 for the dometic.
Im also thinking of adding further outside lighting, maybe in the void over or under the sliding door

Looking for a little bit of help from you knowledgeable lot.

I recently purchased a new LED light for above the cooker as my old one wasn't working, well the new one doesn't work on that strip either but does work on other strips. Before ordering a new one I tried the old one on the live strip above the table and it didn't work so I assumed it was the bulb and not the strip.

I've checked all the 12v conections that I can find to make sure nothing has came loose and although I haven't checked the fuse as I think its the one fuse for each side of van and everything else in van works.

Thanks for the reply Gerry, I didn't know that it matter which way round so will try that, I've tried the new light on the other buzz bars light strip or whatever they're called and it works so might just be luck I put it on the correct way.

As far as I'm aware one fuse does one side of van and the other does the other side not sure if thats correct though, ever other light is working so I can't imagine this one has a fuse of its own but will investigate.

How do you get them off the tracks?

I moved the non switched holder one back on the tracks then removed the bulb before twisting the holders to remove them, the new bulb came with new holders which I have used.

Hi @lorger ,
I have just checked and can confirm the lights are directional.
my lights work and I removed the strip light, reversed it and tried and it doesn't work, so I reversed it back to original orientation and it works fine.
G :)

Morning Team,

I have a portable Necvox ANT-536 antenna which I bought on recommendation from John @Neckender. It's a fantatsic bit of kit (well done John (y)), but I was wondering if anyone has hard wired it to the roof.

I was thinking of installing a fixed TV point in the van before running the Necvox cable to the twin overhead reverse camera apperture above the double doors.

This would save me having to drill a seperate apperture in the body. The aerial seems to have a fairly hefty magnetic base so if I were to position it behind the rear-most roof light then it would avoid any wind blast while travelling too.

It will take a few hours to do the job but it looks a fairly straight forward task.

I'm jut wondering if anyone has done something similiar.

Cheers,

Andrew

G :)

Tried it the other way round and still no joy, I then tried it both ways in the strip above the table and it worked in both directions. It was dark when I checked last night so will check fuse today.

Yes, but by this morning an end was hanging off. Have put back on but it may need sikaflexing on. Its an arse of a job as its flexible rubber. When it arrived it was rolled up, so I had to leave it puilled out straight on the table a few days before fitting.
Will let you know how it goes.

PS Ive got one length left
